London-based Peter James Khan has three releases listed on Traxsource, this one is the freshest. Remixes from Cookie Monsters, Ossie and Phil Asher, ‘Do U See’ on Floor Jams is something for a serious house lover.
We’d like to point out a couple of things about this release. First the vocal works. The newcomer in the scene Oriell Anderson comes with a flow which in most cases is achieved by vocalists who have been in the scene for a longer time. Not your every-day vocal flow of soulful house.
The second of course is the production. Peter James Khan delivers a tight layered production, melodic chords to keep you hunting. There’s a definite so-to-speak grown-up house music vibe here mostly associated with the likes of Phil Asher. Maybe that’s why one of the remixes is by PA himself. His remix is both deep and soulful and the same time, with phatter than your average beats. This is a banger!
We’d say the Ossie remix also holds a lot of promise but somehow fails to deliver it all. It builds up the excitement and brings on the pumpy bassline but falls short of putting the cherry on top.
None the less, Do U See is a very good release bound to get some airtime on Soul to Unite Radio Hour.
