Traxsource reports, Defected has launched a new label dedicated to promoting upcoming producers.
Focusing on fresh, new and undiscovered talent from around the globe – along with the occasional curveball release from established acts, DTFD will be releasing music from the likes of Guti, Jonas Rathsman, Forrest and Pitto over the coming months.
DFTD will complement its parent label and will have a more diverse musical remit, releasing a broad range of electronic music, focussing on quality, discerning dance music.
The label’s first release will be from one of the most gifted and original electronic artists of his generation. With previous releases on Cadenza and Desolat, Guti has demonstrated time and again his creativity and passion for underground electronic music, both of which are in full force on the stunning Hope EP. Dropping 3rd June, it sets out the label’s stall in exemplary fashion.
Further releases from the likes of Pitto, J Cub, Raw District and Art of Tones, with additional announcements to the made in the coming weeks promise to pepper the summer months with a generous sprinkling of quality house and techno.
In addition to this impressive release schedule, the label will incorporate a strong focus on events and touring, with a summer residency at Ibiza’s brand new Ushuaia Tower venue already secured. DFTD will be a free daytime party at Ushuaia Tower which – according to Defected Records’ founder Simon Dunmore – aims to “showcase eclectic new talent and work closely with our friends at associated labels.”
The visuals of DFTD have been created by renowned designer, Trevor Jackson, the visionary, award-winning, creative who was also behind Defected Records’ recently re-launched brand identity.
The line-ups for DTFD at Ushuaia Tower along with the release dates for upcoming DFTDsingles and EPs will be revealed over the coming weeks.
