Soul to Unite

SD aka Soul&Distance

SD is the driving force behind Soul to Unite. From the ideas behind the brand itself, website to social media and of course the radio shows, special edition mixes and gigs. There are days when the whole thing seems to be a full-time job.

He got into the music way back and radio has been his affection for early the early days. Thanks to the multi-room home stereo system his father built, the young SD in the ages of just eight or nine started to do radio shows broadcasting from the living room to the kitchen.

With the drum&bass and jungle upbringing in this teens, SD set up one of the first and certainly the most popular website covering Estonian drum bass scene. Few years later he was one of the guys who set up even something bigger – Stereo88.com – a website covering the whole Estonian clubbing scene. With thousands of daily visitors, this was the website back in the day.

His radio experience is also not limited to his childhood games. Over the years SD has been hosting shows on three different Estonian FM-stations including the nation-wide Raadio 2 where he introduced young and upcoming djs from all across the musical spectrum.

His love for house music started to grow in early 2000 after getting to know the music from Masters At Work, Kerri Chandler, Karizma, Kenny Bobien and Byron Stingily. Estonian superheroes Rulers of the Deep and Dave Storm also played an important role driving him from drum&bass to soulful house.

SD’s record crate includes wide selection of house music – soulful, african, latin, deep, jackin’, jazzy. You’ll always hear beautiful vocals and often genre-breaking twists. All this music is blended together just perfectly to make sure his audience gets to experience different aspects of house music. It always has the soul, it always hooks infections grooves.
